The Healing Cave Inc. provides the space, tools, education, therapies, and professionals for people who experience the most barriers to receiving holistic care, so that they may engage with their life-long journey of healing and wellness.

Our Vision

We believe that all living beings are capable of engaging in their lifelong healing process on a physical, mental, emotional, and energetic level. We strive to provide the public with free, alternative, holistic wellness and healing bodywork services.

Intuitive Practices + Healing Modalities

Each of our services and classes is designed as an experience that meets you exactly where you are. You'll be guided to listen to your body's signals and discover what it's communicating. Along the way, you'll be reminded that this is your body - and within you lies an innate wisdom about what it needs and you have the capacity to heal and to maintain a peaceful inner life.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain, restore motion, and release trauma that has manifested in the body as dis-ease.

The use of Myofascial Release allows us to look at each patient as a unique individual. Sessions are hands-on treatments during which the therapist uses a multitude of Myofascial Release techniques and movement therapy. Within these sessions we will also promote bodily autonomy through education in proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instruction, enhancement of strength, improved flexibility, and postural and movement awareness.

Receiving myofascial release requires the client to engage with their releasing, healing, and integration, even during the uncomfortable and unpleasant moments of the journey. This modality is truly about embodying sentiments like: Feel It to Heal It & Through Is The Only Way Out.

Massage Therapy

Reiki

(Usui Reiki & Sekhem-Seichem-Reiki)

Reiki is a non-invasive and powerful form of energy healing. Sessions can target any physical and/or energetic areas of disconnection or dis-ease (that may show up as pain, tension, lack of mobility, numbness, tingling, etc.), mental and/or emotional experiences/conditions, or can just be for overall general well-being.

Reiki involves a practitioner placing their hands directly above or lightly on the body (clients remain fully clothed). Reiki accelerates the body’s innate healing abilities, strengthens the immune system, relieves pain, creates balance, clears toxins, enhances personal awareness, relaxes, promotes creativity, opens the heart, treats both symptoms and causes of illness, releases blocked and suppressed feelings, aids spiritual practice, and much more. However, you don’t need to be experiencing a challenge to greatly benefit from Reiki.

Chiropractic Care

These sessions involve a Chiropractor providing treatment that encourages the body’s ability to heal itself. Treatment typically involves manual therapy, often including spinal manipulation, brief massage or myofascial release, stretching and sustained pressure to specific joint manipulations (which are usually delivered by hand and involve a quick and gentle thrust.) The purpose of the manipulations is to improve joint motion and function. Manipulations are most commonly done on the spine, but other parts of the body may also be treated in this way. Chiropractors often treat problems related to the musculoskeletal system, and can often aid in injury recovery.

Sound/Vibrational Therapy

These immersive sessions involve the provider using specific tones, frequencies and vibrations to promote healing and relaxation for the group or individual audience, who are encouraged to get as comfortable as possible to really allow themselves to soak up the vibrations and just be present. Unlike music therapy, which can involve singing or songwriting, sound therapy doesn't include lyrics — though it may incorporate vocal tones or chanting. Sessions may also incorporate binaural beats, sound baths using a variety of instruments and sound-makers, and vibroacoustic techniques (vibration and sound applied directly to a person's chest/heartspace or back). Although sound therapy implies hearing with your ears, even those who cannot hear well or at all can greatly benefit from these sessions, as the body and energy bodies still feel and benefit from the vibrations made by each frequency played. Sound/Vibrational therapy can help with enhancing mood, improving cognition, relieving pain, and aiding in easing lung and sleep issues.

Guided Yoga/Stretching

A physical practice that benefits your mind too! In these classes/sessions you'll be guided in a group or one-on-one, through a series of movements and body positions that your instructor has especially curated with specific healing intentions. Yoga is an excellent way to move your body and get centered and grounded, whether you're new to it or not.

Making yoga a part of one's life can improve physical health by lowering blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart disease, stretching tired, achy, and overused muscles and tissue, and aiding digestion. It can also help in sleeping better and managing stress. Like any mind-body practice, yoga supports mental health just as much as physical. Guided Yoga sessions generally rely on teachings and structures from various paths of yoga, which is an art and science originating from ancient India and Buddhism, (though one does not need to practice Buddhism in order to benefit from yoga.) Guided stretching does not generally rely so much on yogic structure and positions, and is more about helping one get comfortable with stretching and breathing and being present in their bodies.

Guided Meditation & Breathwork

Guided meditation involves a provider acting as narrator and guide, as they lead you through a meditation session, often using visualization techniques, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices. You may be prompted to be still or move your body alongside the meditation.

When meditation is guided, it provides a structure that allows for more ease in engaging with the practice, and this can be great for beginners and even seasoned meditators that enjoy having space held for them & being led on a journey.

Creating a consistent meditation practice, or even just beginning to try it out, can be a great tool for self-care, nervous system regulation, and deepening relationship with Self. Guided breathwork involves the narration and guidance of the provider as well, with the focus being more on utilizing particular breath types as therapeutic tools for a unique and personalized experience of peace and healing. These sessions require client participation and engagement; you are not passively receiving.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

Examples of Methods: Cupping, Acupuncture, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Chinese Herbs

In these sessions the provider will use a system of medicine at least 23 centuries old that aims to prevent and/or heal disease by maintaining or restoring the yin-yang balance. By restoring a dynamic balance between these two complementary forces, TCM treats the body as a whole.

According to TCM, a person is healthy when harmony exists between these two forces; illness, on the other hand, results from a breakdown in the equilibrium. The patient may be treated with acupuncture or acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, and/or a prescription for one (or some combination) of thousands of medicinal plants. An essential aspect of TCM is an understanding of the body’s qi (life force/vital breath), which flows through the meridians (energy channels) of the body. This energy network connects organs, tissues, veins, nerves, cells, atoms, and consciousness itself.

Our board members and advisors provide essential guidance and oversight for The Healing Cave. They help shape our vision, support our goals, and ensure we stay aligned with our mission and values, keeping our highlighted communities as the focus of our efforts. As we work to bring free, accessible, holistic healing services to underserved communities, our board members will accept all the help (that is aligned with our goals) that they can get!
